Frequently asked questions

You have started using Bluetools Summit and new questions came up. Here is a list of questions other facilitators had as well. If you do not find the answer to your question here, send us your question directly and we will reach out to you as soon as possible.

How can I get started with open strategizing?

Opening up the strategy process to broader cirlces of employees and external stakeholders can be scary. Therefore we encourage you to take a gradual approach – testing it in smaller parts of your organization.

What is a good topic title & description

Within the tool the space for topic titles and descriptions is very limited. This is to ensure that you as a facilitator choose very clear and simple terms.

Topic title: Find simple terms as topic titles. They should provide participants with a clear idea about the matter you are talking about. Examples could be “Values”, “Strengths”, “Opportunities” etc.

Topic description: This space is thought to very briefly guide the participants in the task. This is not the space to include lengthy explanations about the topic or the project. Just include shortly what you expect of the participants in this topic. An example could be “List all trends in the environment that have an effect on the organization”.

How can I communicate the project description?

It’s important that facilitators share a clear briefing of the project to the participants.

Unfortunately, at the moment this functionality is not integrated in the tool yet. Therefore, we recommend to share a detailed briefing in an invitation mail – together with the registration link.

What is the difference between topic & dimension?

Topics are the different matters and subjects that you would like to discuss with the participants. Examples could be the “values” of the organization or “trends” that are perceived in the environment.

Dimensions on the other hand are a second possibility to classify posts. We understand dimensions as different perspectives, from which a post can be looked at. For example, posts can concern the “value creation” for customers of the organization or they can affect the “leadership style” of the organization – or both.

It is important to note that dimensions are the same for all topics. Basically, by using dimensions you can provide a further framework for analysis.

What is a good title for a post?

The post title should be as short as possible (ideally 1-3 words) but still clear enough to be understandable for other participants.

While you can add detailed information in the post description, the post title should be specific enough that others can evaluate it.

This is a balance and we encourage you to just try and learn from experience.

Where can I see the result dashboard?

The button to access the dashboard is located on the top bar.

However, the access for participants has to be activated by the moderator.

In case you don’t find the “Dashboard” button on the top bar, please contact the moderator to ask for access.
